5 Faves

The first picture we have up top is a perfect example of a black and white geometric collage. I had to cut out black and white art clippings and make the composition geometric. I think that the way it flows is really cool, and it has great contrast in black, white, and some grays. The main piece that sticks out to me in this collage is the Art, Beauty, The Sea, and Life, all those words tied together in this collage. This makes sense that Art is Beauty, just like Life and the Sea. It makes sense to me!
The second picture is an example of a design of white on black. We had to take some thumbnails of different designs of white on black and black on white designs. I choose this design for my white on black. I think they look like glasses and a mixture of a scissor design. I like how i designed the shape and how the lines are placed where they are. This piece could have been more complexed, but it works out being simple the way it is.
The third picture I have on display is one of my ultimate favorite pieces I have ever made. Can you tell what it is? If you don't know me personally you probably wouldn't get the design right away unless I tell you. Some people can get what it is right away and some have to wait until I tell them. Well these are my initials, SF. Our assignment was to incoperate our initials into an art piece. We had to have one side of the letters touching the border of the page like mine do. The F is intergrated with the S and it kind of looks like a sward or a T. This may look like an easy task, but I spent a few months on this project, it was not easy at first but once I got the feel for my assignment, it was a lot easier.
The fourth picture I have up is what I call "Spatter Rythem." Splatter Rythem is simply a design used with black paint and different tools to make different thin, thickness, and style out of different pencils, rulers, paper, etc.... I ended up using my finger for some areas, I used a pencil tip and drew with my eyes shut, and finally I also used different paint brush thin/thickness. This was more of a free assignment, I enjoyed how the overall piece turned out. I remember looking around in our classroom and some other groups had some wild designs! It was a creative, fun, and relaxing project.
The fifth picture I have up is "IHCC." I went to Indian Hills Community College, I decided to use these letters to make a design in remembrance of the college I attended. IHCC is just the repetitive form of IHCC and overlapping. I really think this design has a great balance of black and white and it was a rythem that just has an illusion of making the design keep going and going. To some it might be confusing, but once they get the idea of the IHCC letters they can begin to see them throughout the design.

Free Time Drawings

Hey Guys! Here Are Some OlderDrawings I Have Done Throughout The Years, Enjoy And Let Me Know What You Think Of Them!

1: Focal Point: This Composition Is Constant Lines Coming To Points Throughout The Piece. I Love The Whole Piece It's Just A Piece That Looks Challenging And Makes Your Eyes Look At It Constantly.
2: Symmetry: This Was My Final In My 2D Class. We Had To Draw A Symmetrical Design And I Choose To Complicate It Into This. I Love The Differences In Black And White, Also I Love The Whole Symmetrical Overall Composition. It Took A lot Of Time And Concentration. This Is One Of My Favorite Pieces I Have Made!
3: Blue Print: This Is A Composition That I Made About 3 Years Ago Just Free Hand Drawing In My Free Time. I Like This Piece And How The Whole Composition Is Symmetrical And The Points Are Clearly Distinguished.
4: 11/28/03: This Art Piece Was Made 6 Years Ago! I Can't Believe That As An 8th Grader I Was Drawing Linear Designs Like This! This Piece Is Just Lines Connecting Making A Piece Of Art.
5: Dragon: This One Was Made 6 Years Ago From Today Actually! I Remember I Had Nothing Else To Do So I Sat Down And Traced A Card Boarded Triangle Shape Out Over And Over. I Than Colored Them Our School Colors; Purple, Gold, Gray, And Black. I Call This The Dragon Because We Were The Jtown Dragons And The Colors Match Our School Colors. I Love This Piece And The Combination Of Colors And Figureation Altogether.
6: 8/14/04: This Was Drawn Up 5 Years Ago. I Like The Design As A Whole And How The Circles And Lines Combine Into An Unusual Composition. It All Lines Up Into A Dimond Like Shape And All Is Repeated.
7: 2/3/05: This Was Drawn Up 4 Years Ago. I Love This Overall Piece Because Of The Circle And The Design Within In The Circle. The Lines And How They Repeat And The Middle Design Sticks Out. It Kind Of Reminds Me Of One Of Those Designs You Would See As A Little Kid In The Colorful Tube You Would Look At Threw One Eye. If It Were Colored It Would Be A Perfect Example Of Them Designs.
8: Design: This Design Is Named Design Because I Couldn't Think Of Anything Else. I Like The Whole Thing As A Whole. Just The Different Lines I Used And How I Made It To Come Out The Way It Did Is Great.
